About Me
Hi! I am a Service Designer and Design Strategist passionate about problem-solving and making a positive difference. I design services, products and experience in the physical as well as digital realm.
I graduated in MA Service Design from the Royal College of Art in London. This programme helped me to broaden my understanding of innovation and design as collaborative work. Parallel to my postgraduate studies, I had the opportunity to work as a Service Designer at the world's largest investment bank and financial services company in Asset and Wealth Management Operations. Currently, I am looking for a new challenge.
In my free time, you will find me reading, playing beach volleyball and crafting. Currently, I am upcycling empty glass bottles into table lamps.
My Background
Prior to my postgraduate studies, I graduated in BA Communication Design from the Peter Behrens School of Arts in Düsseldorf, Germany. As part of my undergraduate studies I also lived, studied, worked and traveled for a while in Sweden.
I started my career in design in the advertising and media industry, where I had the opportunity to apply my storytelling and creative skills to projects and campaigns for some of the most popular brands of our time such as Sky, Allianz, Coca Cola, Sony Playstation and Warner Bros. Parallel to my creative journey, I've taken on different roles in startups to pursue my interest in business. While I enjoyed both of these journeys, I haven't really managed to combine them successfully. The nature of these roles didn’t allow me to take a more holistic approach to solve problems. I realised that I was solely solving business problems.
My Approach
With Service Design I found a way to take a more holistic approach to use my creative skills to help people to progress, businesses to succeed and the planet to thrive.
To achieve that, I am following a human-centred approach and the structure of "Discover, Define, Develop and Deliver". However, I look at them as 4 different mindsets and ways of operating rather than phases as I believe that the design process is not as linear as the 'Double-Diamond' suggests.
I am highly collaborative and I thrive as part of multidisciplinary teams where I can be inspired and inspire others. I balance creativity with an analytical approach, supported by in-depth research to make sure that I am designing the right 'thing', to then design the 'thing' right.
My superpower: Provoking new thinking through "crazy and evil ideas".

CURRENT ROLE
I am currently a Service Designer on the Transformation Programme at Inchcape Shipping Services in London, United Kingdom. In this role, I plan and conduct research activities and validation sessions, including concept tests and usability tests. My responsibilities include identifying pain points and needs, creating journey maps and service blueprints, and facilitating discovery, ideation, and validation workshops across all work packages. I collaborate closely with UX designers, analysts, solution architects, and various other team members to translate insights into enhanced or entirely new digital solutions for port call and marine services management.
APPROACH
I follow a human-centred approach and structure my design process into "Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver." However, I view these as four distinct mindsets and ways of operating rather than linear phases, as I believe the design process is not as straightforward as the 'Double-Diamond' and similar models suggest.
I thrive in highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams where I can both inspire and be inspired by others. I balance creativity with an analytical approach, supported by in-depth research, to ensure I am designing the right 'thing' before designing the 'thing' right.
BACKGROUND
I hold a Masters degree in Service Design from the Royal College of Art in London, where I expanded my understanding of innovation and design as collaborative work.
Before pursuing my postgraduate studies, I completed a Bachelor degree in Communication Design from the Hochschule Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf, Germany. During my undergraduate years, I also lived, studied, and worked in Sweden.
I began my design career in the advertising and media industry, where I applied my storytelling and creative skills to creative projects and campaigns for renowned brands such as Sky, Allianz, Coca-Cola, Sony PlayStation, and Warner Bros. Alongside my creative journey, I took on various roles in startups to explore my interest in business. While I enjoyed both paths, I found it challenging to combine them successfully. The nature of these roles didn't allow me to adopt a holistic approach to problem-solving, and I realized that I was primarily addressing business problems.
With Service Design, I discovered a way to take a more holistic approach, utilising my creative skills to help people progress, businesses succeed, and the planet thrive.
